Is There Any Hope?

On Saturday December 17, 1927, an S-4 submarine was rammed by the Coast Guard Cutter "Paulding" off the coast of Massachusetts. It sank immediately! The entire crew was trapped in a prison house of death. Every effort was made to rescue the crew, but heavy seas, gale winds, and freezing temperatures hampered rescue efforts.  All attempts to reach the crew ultimately failed. Forty sailors were lost in the incident. Near the end of the ordeal, a deep-sea diver, who was doing everything in his power to find a way for the crew's release, thought he heard a tapping on the steel wall of the sunken sub. He placed his helmet up against the side of the vessel and he realized it was the Morse Code. He attached himself to the side and he spelled out in his mind the message being tapped from within. It was repeating the same question. The question, from within was:
                                   "Is there any hope?"

The world is like that sinking submarine. The Bible teaches: "The world is passing away, and also its lusts” (1 John 2:17a).  "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up" (2 Peter 3:10).  The sobering truth is that those whose sins are NOT forgiven will "go down with it."
                                             Is there any hope?

Because of Jesus Christ, the answer is a resounding, " YES!"  Jesus has
come to our rescue.  He died on the cross to redeem us from sin (Ephesians 1:7).

He died so that we might live (1 John 4:10).  Because Jesus rose from the grave
and lives, we have a " living hope" in Him!  "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a
" living hope" through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" (1 Peter 1:3).

Hope is available to THOSE who will: place their trust in God (Hebrews 11:6), repent of sin (Acts 17:30-31), confess Jesus before men (Romans 10:9-10), be baptized (immersed) in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38), AND live faithfully to Him until death (Revelation 2:10).

This is GOOD NEWS  - SAVING NEWS!

"And the world is passing away [sinking], and the lust of it; BUT he who DOES the will of God abides forever" (1 John 2:17).

There is hope for YOU -IF- you will DO the will of God!

God bless you!
