The Greatest Wonder

A group of students were asked to list what they thought were the present
"Seven Wonders of the World."  Though there were some disagreements,
the following received the most votes:

1. Egypt’s Great Pyramids
2. Taj Mahal
3. Grand Canyon
4. Panama Canal
5. Empire State Building
6. St. Peter’s Basilica
7. China’s Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student had not finished her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list. The girl replied, "Yes, a little. I couldn’t quite make up my mind because there were so many."

The teacher said, "Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help."
The girl hesitated, then read, "I think the ‘Seven Wonders of the World' are:

1. To see
2. To hear
3. To touch
4. To taste

She hesitated a little, and then added,

5. To feel
6. To laugh

7. And to love. "

The room was so full of silence you could have heard a pin drop.
The things we overlook as simple and “ordinary” are truly wondrous! *

During this Thanksgiving Holiday season in the United States, I would like to direct your attention to… the Wonder of ALL Wonders: the LOVE of God for us.  "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

God loves us even though we do not deserve it! "For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the UNGODLY. For scarcely for a RIGHTEOUS man will one die; yet perhaps for a GOOD man someone would even dare to die.  But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still SINNERS, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:6-8).

Because of His love for us, God sent His Son to die for our sins, so that we can become His children… "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!" (1 John 3:1).  We become children of God by: placing our trust in Him (Hebrews 11:6), repenting of our sins (2 Corinthians 7:9-10), confessing Jesus before men (Romans 10:9-10), and being baptized (immersed) for
the forgiveness of our sins (Acts 2:38).

When we respond to God’s love in these ways
, we are "born again"  into His family (John 3:3,5; Galatians 3:26-27).  God wants His children to continue to obey His will for the rest of their lives so that they may receive an eternal inheritance (Romans 8:16-17).

Truly, the LOVE of God is THE Wonder of ALL Wonders.  It is amazing, incomprehensible!

Will
YOU not accept His love by your faithful obedience to His will?

God bless you.
