The Master Technician

In the early days of the automobile, a man's Model-T Ford stalled in the middle of
the road.  He couldn't get it started no matter how hard he cranked nor how much he tried to advance the spark or adjust things under the hood.  Just then a chauffeured limousine pulled up behind him, and a wiry, energetic man stepped out from the back seat and offered his assistance.  After tinkering for a few moments the stranger said, "Now try it!"  Immediately the engine leaped to life.

“How did you know how to fix it?” asked the driver of the car. The well-dressed individual then identified himself:  “I am Henry Ford.  I designed and built these cars, so I know what to do when something goes wrong."

In like manner, God designed and created each one of us.  He knows the purpose for which we were intended.  He has revealed to us in His Word (THE Owner’s manual) that we have been created for His glory (see Isaiah 45:7; 1 Corinthians 10:31).
To glorify God with our lives, therefore, is our greatest purpose.

Yet each and every one of us has the desire to do it MY way.”  Our lives
may run smoothly for a while, and we may think we have everything under control.  But eventually and ultimately, we break down.  Our problems worsen because we are unable to identify the TRUE source of the problem, nor do we know how to correct it.

As our Creator, God not only knows the very reason for our existence, but He also understands the nature of our problem and knows how to "fix" us when our lives are broken.

Our rebellion of wanting to do things “MY way” is what the Bible calls SIN.  Sin is deceptive because it causes us to feel like we are in control.  I heard one person make a keen observation:  “I am NOT a self-made man.  If I had made myself, I would have made a mess.”  Now that’s the truth, no matter how sin tries to distort it.
MY way” is self-destructive!  See Matthew 7:13-14.

Sin destroys our lives!  It may do it gradually, but eventually it WILL happen. However, our Creator is also our Savior!  He sent His Son to die for our sins so that
our lives might be “fixed” in order that we may live abundantly
now and eternally when Jesus comes again.  The problem of sin is corrected in our lives when we trust Jesus (Hebrews 11:6), repent of our sins (2 Corinthians 7:10), confess that Jesus is the Son of God (Romans 10:9-10), and are baptized in order to have our sins washed away (Acts 22:16).  As WE continue to operate our lives according to the Owner’s manual, our Owner continues to keep our lives free from the sin problem by washing them away with the blood of Jesus (1 John 1:7).

Don’t be fooled!  Sin WILL break you down and leave you stranded.  Let the "Master" Technician correct the problem - before it’s too late.

God bless you!
