Claiming
Royalty
David
Howe is a
38-year-old American living in
Maryland
. The Isle of Man is an island located in the Irish
Sea off the coast of
England
at the geographical center of the
British Isles
. David Howe has proclaimed himself as the King of the
Isle of Man.
Research
of David’s ancestry has identified him as a
descendant of Thomas II Stanley of the Isle of Man who
was the last King of Mann who ruled the
Island
over 500 years ago. The title of King of Mann was
abandoned in 1504 in favor of the title Lord of Mann,
currently held by Queen Elizabeth II of the
United Kingdom
. However,
due to his ancestral connection to the last King of
Mann, Howe claims that title.
On
March 30, 2007, Howe had himself crowned "the
undisputed King of the Isle of Man" in a
private ceremony at a secret location in southern
Maryland
. Howe claims that the royal title and
regalities of the
Isle of Man
had lain in abeyance from King Thomas II onwards,
whose successors instead used the title Lord of Mann.
Howe declares that his descent from the
Stanley
kings, and his status as the first and only claimant
to the abeyant title, establish his right to inherit
the throne of the Isle of Man.
Howe
claims no governing authority as King of Mann.
In an interview conducted by Shepard Smith on
Fox News, Howe stated that he does have the ability to
bestow titles of nobility.
He is using this royal power to raise money for
orphans in
Malawi
,
Africa
.
The
validity of Howe’s claims is not the subject of this
article, but... Howe’s claims illustrate a very
REAL opportunity for YOU and ME to claim – and enjoy
– royalty because of the gracious offer of kinship
to the King of Kings!
Due
to our sins, we are essentially orphans - hopelessly
lost and in dire need.
But God loved us so much that He gave His Son
to die on the cross so that we might have forgiveness
of our sins and the opportunity to become His
children. The
apostle Paul described this process with the language
of “adoption.”
He reminded Christians of their royalty: “For
you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to
fear, but you received the "Spirit
of adoption" by whom we cry out, ‘Abba,
Father.’ The Spirit Himself bears witness with our
spirit that we are children of God, and if children,
then heirs; heirs of God and joint heirs with
Christ” (Romans 8:15-17).
The
Lord will add to His royal family those who: believe
in Christ (Acts 16:30-31), turn from their sins in repentance
(Acts 17:30-31), confess
Jesus before men (Romans 10:9-10), and are baptized
(immersed) into Christ for the forgiveness of sins
(Acts 2:38; Galatians 3:27).
Those who continue to obediently follow the
edicts of the King can retain the claim of royalty and
enjoy the eternal benefits that accompany that
relationship.
Through
Christ, YOU and I can become children of God and royal
heirs to an ETERNAL inheritance!
Won’t
YOU accept the offer of "royalty"
through your humble submission to the King of Kings?
