Intruders!

Recently, a couple in Prince George County, Maryland, signed a contract with a bank to purchase a vacant foreclosed home.  When the couple left the meeting with the bank, they drove by the home only to find a U-Haul truck in the driveway and people moving into the house.

The couple confronted the men moving into the house.  The men showed papers claiming to be a lease on the property.  The buyers called the police.

“Once the police [were] on site, they took a look at the lease, and it was not accurate,” said Melea King, the couple’s realtor.  “It was not correct.”

King told WUSA9 the couple has an “agreed, sign[ed], ratified contract with the bank” and showed the news outlet the purchasing contract with U.S. Bank.

The buying couple is exasperated and is eager for the matter to be rectified. *

There is an intruder that intends to take over your home (your life) and ruin it.  He wants to bring chaos, division, and evil into your home.  He is your adversary, the devil, and he “prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8).  If he gets into your “home,” he will tempt you to do things that will only bring misery and heartache into your life, but he will make it look fun and pleasurable.  What he won’t tell you is that the “pleasures of sin” are momentary and the end result is destruction (Hebrews 11:25; Matthew 7:13-14).

The only way to get this intruder out of your life is to get the right Landlord, Jesus.  Jesus will not only get rid of the intruder, He will also clean out the mess that the devil brought into your home.  The new Landlord will make something beautiful and eternal of your life.

But Jesus will not “take possession” of our lives unless we submit to Him our Lord and Savior.

In order for the Lord to become the Landlord of our lives, we must place our faith and trust in Jesus (Acts 16:30-31), turn from our sins in repentance (Acts 17:30-31), confess Him before men (Romans 10:9-10), and be baptized (immersed) into Christ for the forgiveness of our sins (Acts 2:38).

The devil will keep trying to work his way back into our lives, but if we will seek to continue to walk in the light of God’s Word, “fixing our eyes on Jesus” (Hebrews 12:2) and following Him, then the blood of Jesus will continue to cleanse us from sin (1 John 1:7-9) and the devil will not be able to defeat us (1 John 4:4).

You need a new Landlord: the Savior, Jesus Christ.  Submit your life to Him and He will evict the old landlord and produce in your life that which is good and eternal.
